CREATING FUTURE IN KYOTO, JAPAN'S ANCIENT CAPITAL
Kyoto Prefectural University, with its origins in Kyoto Prefectural Agricultural School and Kyoto Prefectural Women’s College, is a university with a 130-year history.
It has five faculties (Letters, Social Sciences, Agricultural and Food Sciences, Science and Technology, and Environmental Sciences), three graduate schools (Letters, Social Sciences, and Life and Environmental Sciences), and one degree program (Degree Program in Food Culture).
Along with Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, it operates as the Kyoto Prefectural Public University Corporation, with a one-corporation and two-university system.
The university is actively working to solve regional issues and is striving for further development as a base of knowledge in Kyoto Prefecture.

As President of KPU, I always encourage my students to study abroad and to broaden their horizons and pursue further possibilities in their studies, research, and life in general.
I am always passionate about welcoming international students to my campus. Kyoto is the ancient capital of Japan, where traditional crafts and modern technology meet to create unique companies such as Nintendo and Kyocera.
