Division of Applied Life Sciences

Center of diverse and interdisciplinary research in life sciences

The Division of Applied Life Sciences, engaging in various issues of life sciences that humanity confronts, offers high-quality teaching and various opportunities for research aimed at conserving global environments and developing new technologies to improve humanity's welfare.
This course conducts researches by utilizing the knowledge and technology from a vast array of scientific fields such as materials and life science, that handles materials related to life and environments at the molecular level; the field of science that elucidates and applies the functions of animals, plants, and microorganisms; the science of food production that serves as the basis of our diet; and the science of foods and physical activity with a focus on humans.
We intend to train experts who, through this course, can take on the leadership role in these fields.

Division of Environmental Sciences

Working towards the preservation of the environment and the development of a sustainable society

From our daily living environment to nature's ecosystems, the aims of the Division of Environmental Sciences are to conserve the organically interrelated environment, and to contribute to the development of a sustainable society.
This is why we offer opportunities for research in relation to the following fields: Forest Science with regard to forest ecosystems, prevention of disasters in mountainous regions, and wood-based resources; Life Environment Science in relation to architecture, housing, living design and landscapes; and Applied Mathematics and Information Environment Science in relation to mathematics and informatics and their applications in models and simulation technologies, which are very useful for solving issues of environmental science.
We aim to train students with broad perspectives and applied skills.
