On 25th of May, KPU International Exchange Cooperation Committee and KPU Co-op held co-organized event, 3rd study abroad event. 4 academic staffs, 3 administrative staffs, 2 co-op officials, KPU alum guest speaker and 52 KPU students (including 7 international students) participated in the event.
After the greeting of Mr. Matsunami who is the co-op shop manager, Mr. Kawaguchi, who is the alum of KPU and is the Phd program student of Laval University in Canada, introduced how severe his study life is and how beautiful the nature of Canada is. Laval University is concluding academic exchange agreement with KPU and he is the scholarship student of this agreement.
Professor Ueda, who is the member of IECC gave us a speech about understanding of cultural differences.
Co-op students committee interviewed speakers in advance and introduced them before the speech.
First Miss. Ai Shirasaki who is the 2nd year student of Phd program of graduate School of letters, she went to Xian International Studies University as a Japanese language teacher, gave us a speech. She said she was accepted by Chinese students warmly and she could spend safely when the relationship between Japanese and Chinese relationship was difficult. And she also said about she felt the pleasure when she saw the growth of students who study Japanese language.
The 2nd speaker was an International student from Xian International Studies University, Mr, Hong Fang, who is the 4th year student of faculty of letters. He said he often felt very hard to work part-time job with Japanese colleagues but feel the rest of life in Japan is precious.
The last speaker of KPU is faculty of letters 4th year student Miss Ayaka Matsumoto who participated in internship program at Disney World at the US, Mistukoshi Cultural Representative Program. Thorough the experience of the concierge service for a year in multi cultural circumstance at Disney World which is mega enterprise at the United States, she said she becomes aiming at the manager position which she can involved in the management to make such an entertainment world.
After that, co-op cooperating English Language agent, EF, provided English sample lesson.
The last speaker of the 1st part was Ms. Chigusa Takahashi, alum of KPU who went to Morocco as JICA Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. She talked about the investigation of antiquities and introduced rich food culture based on culture of Morocco.
At the 2nd part, Professor Komatsu gave us a mini lecture about China and Chinese language. Professor Komastu talked about his experience abroad in young days and the food of china which is represented by Jiao-zi.
The 3rd part was café time. Co-op student committee organized this part.
