Indian and Sri Lankan Students visit Kyoto Prefectural University

 On November 9, 2012, 32 Indian and Sri Lankan Students visited Kyoto Prefectural University as a part of the Youth-Exchange Project with Asia-Oceania and North America Kizuna (bond) Project program. From Kyoto Prefectural University, 45 students participated in this program.

 

 After a welcome greeting from Kyoto Prefectural University, each one of the Indian and Sri Lankan students gave a short speech. Two students of Department of European and American Linguistic Cultures, Kyoto Prefectural University introduced Kyoto Prefectural University, Kyoto and especially Gion in English.

 

 After that, student was divided into 6 groups, “Education” “University” “Job” “Marriage” “Leisure” “Asian Youth” , under the theme “The youth culture now and past – Let’s talk about the gap between the image and the reality”. After the discussion, they summarized the discussion and the representatives of the groups presented the content.

 

 After the meeting was closed, students chatted, took photos and made good relationship with pleasant conversations. All presentation and discussion of this program was held in English.

 

* Kizuna (bond) project is the one of the projects organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan to rebuild the disaster area. Its purpose is to inform the real Japan which is supporting earthquake reconstruction.
